About ThisFungiDoesNotExist

ThisFungiDoesNotExist is a project dedicated to NTF (Non-Tokenizable Fungi) — a deliberate countermovement to the NFT (Non-Fungible Token) art market.

Every time you click on an image, you're presented with a new random fungi from our collection — each one gloriously untrackable, uncommodifiable, and resistant to the blockchain's colonization.

NTF: Non-Tokenizable Fungi

While NFTs attempt to create artificial scarcity in the digital realm, fungi represent natural abundance, decomposition, and the rejection of ownership. Fungi exist in networks, breaking down barriers and connecting ecosystems — the antithesis of tokenization.

These images celebrate the mycelial web rather than the blockchain, embracing AI slop and natural randomness over market-driven digital scarcity.

AI Slop vs. Digital Scarcity

This project uses AI-generated content and random selection to create an endless stream of fungi imagery that cannot be owned, cannot be commodified, and exists only in the moment you observe it.

By presenting these images without metadata, provenance, or ownership records, we deliberately reject the core tenets of NFT marketplace ideology.

How It Works

Our system randomly selects fungi images from an ever-growing dataset, presenting them without attribution, title, or market value — just pure mycological appreciation.

Anti-Ownership Statement

All images in this project are released into the public domain. They cannot be "owned" in any meaningful sense. We encourage their free distribution, modification, and sharing without restriction.
